You list your construction machine with its registration document and photos. Verified dealers and exporters then submit binding bids, and you decide whether to accept one. The purchase contract, payment and collection run through truckoo – not through the dealer. For you the sale is free of charge, even after you accept.
Through truckoo you sell earthmoving and construction machinery in every size class: crawler and wheeled excavators, mini excavators, wheel loaders, compact loaders, dumpers, rollers, graders and telehandlers. Unlike road vehicles, what counts here are operating hours rather than kilometres.
Attachments belong in the listing. A quick coupler, a sorting grab or a second set of buckets lifts the bid noticeably – and if they are missing at handover, that costs more than they are worth.
The sale consists of four steps: list, receive bids, accept a bid, hand over. Until you accept a bid you can cancel at any time at no cost – and even after that you pay nothing.
Photograph the registration certificate, enter the mileage, take six mandatory photos. The listing process guides you through each photo. Around ten minutes.
Every bid is binding and valid for a fixed period. You see all bids side by side, not just the highest.
If none suits, you don’t sell – at no cost. Once accepted, there is no renegotiation.
Handover at a partner workshop or collection from your premises. Then payout by instant bank transfer. Deregistration can be added as an optional service (from 49 €).
Four factors determine the price: the operating hours, the condition of the undercarriage or the tyres, the brand together with its spare parts supply in the target market, and the range of attachments. On construction machinery, the year of manufacture says less than the hours on the counter.
For construction machines, operating hours are what the odometer is for a truck – only more meaningful. An eight-year-old excavator with 4,000 hours is worth more than a four-year-old one with 9,000. In addition, it counts how those hours were accumulated: demolition and recycling wear a machine out faster than earthmoving.
On tracked machines the undercarriage is the most expensive wear item of all – tracks, rollers, idlers and track tensioners can account for a substantial share of the machine's value. A percentage figure for the remaining condition belongs in the vehicle details. On wheeled machines, the tyres and axles take on that role.
Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr and Volvo are considerably easier to sell on the export markets than niche makes, because workshop networks and a supply of spare parts exist there. Among smaller machines, Wacker Neuson, Takeuchi and Kubota are among the sought-after makes. The premium for the make is more noticeable with construction machines than with road vehicles.
A quick coupler, sets of buckets, a hammer, a sorting grab, air conditioning, central lubrication and weighing systems raise the bid. What matters is that they are listed in full and are actually there at the handover – an attachment found to be missing afterwards costs more in the processing than it was worth in the bid.
Listing prices for construction machinery are dealers' selling prices and almost always contain negotiating room. Above all, though, they lack the detail that determines the value: the condition of the undercarriage and the range of attachments. Two excavators with the same hour count can differ considerably in value. Five items lie between the listing price and the purchase:
On transport the gap is larger than with road vehicles, because a construction machine is moved by low loader and does not drive itself. That is exactly why having several dealers calculate at the same time brings especially much here – the nearest one has the most room to move.
Condition rules out no machine. Excavators and loaders that are not operational also find buyers – dealers with their own workshop and exporters. Two details are decisive, and sellers often leave them out: the remaining condition of the undercarriage and whether the machine can still be loaded under its own power.
Ten thousand hours is no bar for a tracked excavator. What matters are the service records and the condition of the hydraulics and the undercarriage. A documented engine or pump overhaul is an argument for a higher price.
Machines that are not operational also find buyers – dealers with their own workshop and exporters. State the damage as precisely as possible, including whether the machine can still be loaded.
Tracks, rollers and idlers are the most expensive wear item on a tracked machine. A remaining condition given as a percentage belongs in the vehicle details – otherwise dealers estimate it conservatively, and that costs more than an honest figure.
A machine without a bucket or a quick coupler is saleable, but fetches less. List exactly what is included and what is not – attachments found to be missing afterwards are the most common point of dispute at the handover.
Rollover and accident damage does not rule out a sale, but often affects load-bearing parts. Enclose an expert report or repair records so that dealers do not devalue the frame across the board.
An ongoing contract does not stand in the way of a sale. truckoo obtains the settlement amount from the bank or the leasing company and offsets it against the purchase price – you receive the difference.
On truckoo, 1500+ verified dealers and exporters from 35+ countries submit bids. Every buyer is checked for proof of trade registration, VAT identification number and solvency before being approved. You yourself have a contract with none of them – your contractual partner is truckoo.
The difference from a classified ad is the number of calculations. With construction machinery that weighs heavily, because low-loader transport makes up a considerable part of the calculation: the nearest dealer has the most room to move. Through truckoo, regional and international buyers bid side by side, and you see where the difference lies.
For sellers, selling through truckoo is free of charge – completely and permanently. There is no listing fee, no brokerage commission and no deduction from the purchase price, not even when you accept a bid and actually sell.
As a rule, a few working days after the vehicle details are complete. Photograph not only the machine itself but also the hour meter, the undercarriage or the tyres and all attachments – without these three shots, dealers calculate cautiously.
No. You see every bid and decide freely. If you accept none, no costs arise and the vehicle stays yours. There is no deadline by which you have to decide – only the individual bids are time-limited.
truckoo. The sales contract, the payment and the processing all run through truckoo, not through the dealer who bids. You have a single point of contact, even if something needs clarifying after the handover.
On the day of handover. As soon as the partner on site has confirmed that the vehicle, keys and documents have been handed over in full, truckoo pays out by instant bank transfer. You do not have to chase your money and you do not have to pay anything in advance.
With construction machines, operating hours are the single most important value – more important than the year of manufacture. In addition, it counts how those hours were accumulated: demolition and recycling wear a machine out faster than earthmoving. State the meter reading and the field of use, and the bid becomes more reliable.
Unlike road vehicles, there is usually no registration certificate. What matters are the purchase receipt or proof of ownership, the CE marking and declaration of conformity, the operating manual, service records and – if available – the most recent statutory safety inspection report (DGUV). For mobile excavators that require road registration, the vehicle papers are needed as well.
The buyer. Construction machines are collected by low-loader; the cost of that is accounted for in the bid. When entering the vehicle details, state whether the machine can be loaded under its own power and whether the access is suitable for a low-loader.
Ten minutes to create the listing, then you decide at your own pace. For sellers the sale is free of charge – even when you do sell.
