How truckoo works

You list your vehicle. Verified dealers and exporters submit binding bids, and you decide whether to accept one. If you accept, we buy the vehicle from you and resell it to the bidding dealer.

Your contractual partner is truckoo, not the dealer. You issue an invoice to truckoo GmbH and receive your money on the day of handover.

Two contracts, not a three-way deal

There is no contract between you and the bidding dealer. When you accept a bid, two separate purchase contracts arise: you sell to truckoo, truckoo sells to the dealer. That is why you issue your invoice to truckoo GmbH, why your money comes from truckoo, and why you still have a point of contact after the handover.

That is exactly the difference to a classified ads portal: there you negotiate and close the deal yourself, and if something goes wrong you are on your own. Here we bear the buyer's default risk.

What happens at each step

The sale consists of four steps. The vehicle pages describe what you do – here you can read what happens at the same time at truckoo and at the dealer.

Step
You
truckoo
The dealer

Vehicle listing

approx. 10 minutes
You

photograph the registration certificate and the vehicle, and answer the questions on its condition

truckoo

checks for completeness and plausibility and follows up if anything is missing

The dealer

sees nothing at this stage

Bidding phase

a few working days
You

wait. No calls, no viewing appointments

truckoo

makes the vehicle available to the dealers for whom it is a fit

The dealer

calculates using their own transport, reconditioning and storage costs

Decision

no deadline
You

see all bids side by side and accept one – or none

truckoo

tracks the bids, informs you when they expire and compiles the documents

The dealer

is bound by their bid for as long as it is valid

Handover

payout on the same day
You

hand over the vehicle, keys and documents at a partner workshop near you and issue the invoice to truckoo

truckoo

has the handover confirmed at the partner workshop, pays by instant bank transfer and deregisters the vehicle on request

The dealer

collects the vehicle from the partner workshop and pays truckoo, not you

What dealers see about you

The vehicle, not you. Dealers bid on vehicle data, photos and condition details – your name, address and phone number are not shown to them. That is also why you receive no calls: the dealers do not know who they would be calling.

Only after you have accepted are the details transmitted that are needed for collection.

What truckoo is not

Not a classified ads portal

You don't place an ad, screen enquiries or run negotiations. There is no idle period in which your vehicle sits online and nothing happens.

Not a buyer with its own price

We don't set the price; we let several dealers calculate at the same time. What you get is the best result from that competition – not our estimate.

Not an auction house

There is no knockdown, no bidding war and no obligation on your part. You see bids and decide – or you don't.

List your vehicle and receive bids

Ten minutes to list, then you decide at your own pace. For sellers the sale is free of charge – including when you do sell.
