There is no Schwacke guide (blue book) for trucks. truckoo gives you a non-binding price estimate in advance, based on real sales and current dealer demand – and, if you wish, binding bids from verified dealers afterwards that show the actual market price. Free of charge, for all makes and models.
The valuation takes four steps: register the vehicle, receive a price estimate, obtain binding bids if you wish, and only then decide whether to sell.
Submit the registration certificate, mileage, body and current photos – online, in around ten minutes.
truckoo gives you a non-binding estimate – derived from real sales through truckoo and current demand in the dealer network.
If you wish, the vehicle goes to verified dealers. Their binding bids are the actual market price – side by side and comparable.
You accept a bid or leave it. If you accept, the contract, payment and collection run through truckoo; the purchase price is paid out at handover.
For cars, the model, year and mileage are enough for a guide value. For trucks, the body, axle configuration, Euro standard, equipment and usage profile make every vehicle unique – and the price depends on which market buys it. That is why all the usual routes to a value have a gap.
Designed for cars. There are no reliable values for commercial vehicles there, because the variants cannot be mapped.
mobile.de and Autoline show dealer selling prices – including margin, reconditioning, standing time and room for negotiation. The purchase price is lower.
Quotes a rule-of-thumb value for their own sales market. Whether an exporter or a specialist would pay more is something you won’t see this way.
Comes from depreciation, not from the market. For tractor units it is often higher than what dealers pay – and leads to false expectations.
truckoo derives the estimate from real sales through the platform and current dealer demand. The final market price is not set by us, but by the binding bids of several dealers side by side.
Five factors make the difference for a commercial vehicle. Which of them weighs most depends on the vehicle type and market – for a Euro 5 truck the export market is decisive, for a young Euro 6 vehicle it is the equipment.
Euro 6 stays in the EU, Euro 5 goes to Eastern Europe, Euro 3 and 4 to Africa and the Middle East. Every market calculates differently.
For trucks it is kilometres that count, for construction and agricultural machines it is operating hours. Trucks hold their residual value more stably than light commercial vehicles.
Tippers, refrigerated boxes or loader cranes narrow the buyer pool but often raise the price. Retarder and long-haul cab are decisive for tractor units.
Drivetrain, frame and body determine the price; service booklet, inspection report and invoices turn a risk into a simple calculation.
Tippers and agricultural machines sell better before the season, and standing time always costs money. A vehicle that is only standing around is better sold today than in six months.
For a reliable estimate, truckoo needs the key vehicle data, the registration certificate, current photos and honest information on equipment and condition. The more complete the listing, the closer the estimate will be to the later bids.
Wheel formula, cab, engine power, retarder and, where applicable, hydraulics.
Sell a tractor unit →Body type, axles, loading height, floor and, where applicable, refrigeration unit.
Sell a semi-trailer →The valuation applies to all commercial vehicles sold through truckoo – from vans, trucks and tractor units to semi-trailers, trailers, buses as well as construction and agricultural machines. What determines the value of each vehicle type is explained on the corresponding sales page.
You receive the estimate for an individual vehicle directly through the listing process. For larger stocks and regularly de-fleeted vehicles, truckoo values the stock as a whole and proposes the appropriate sales strategy for each vehicle.
For trade businesses, SMEs and companies that want to know what a truck, van or semi-trailer is worth today.
Get your vehicle valuedFor hauliers, leasing companies and businesses that need residual values for several vehicles or for their ongoing de-fleet process.
Request a fleet valuationThere is a market price for these too – just a different pool of buyers. What determines the value in these cases and which documents raise the bid is explained on the respective pages.

Answered briefly and concretely. What determines the value of individual vehicle types is explained on the respective sales pages.
No, and it would not be useful. Schwacke and DAT are designed for cars. For commercial vehicles they do not deliver reliable figures, because the body, axle configuration, equipment and duty profile make every truck a one-off. There is no list-based valuation for trucks as there is for cars – the value only emerges where dealers actually do their sums.
No. Eurotax also concentrates on cars and does not reflect the commercial vehicle market. For trucks, tractor units, semi-trailers and vans there is no provider that gives a reliable list value. What does exist are real sale results and the current demand from dealers – and that is what the truckoo estimate is based on.
As a rough guide yes, as a value no. What you find there are dealers' asking prices – with the margin, room for negotiation, reconditioning and standing time already built in. The purchase price a dealer can pay for your vehicle is below that. On top of that, a genuinely comparable vehicle with the same body, the same emissions standard and a similar mileage is rarely to be found.
That will usually get you figures based on experience, not binding numbers – with many dealers it only becomes binding after an inspection on site. In addition, every dealer calculates for their own sales market: someone selling to Eastern Europe works to different figures than a regional dealer. Through truckoo, several verified dealers bid on the same vehicle at the same time and with binding effect, and you see the bids side by side.
That depends on two figures: the settlement value under your contract and the market value of the vehicle. If the market value is clearly above the settlement value, selling it yourself can be worthwhile. The truckoo price estimate gives you the second figure in advance; binding bids confirm it. Whether, and on what terms, you may buy out a leased vehicle is governed by your lease.
You list your vehicle with truckoo – with the registration document, photos and the mileage. You receive a non-binding price estimate from truckoo. If you wish, the vehicle then goes to verified dealers, whose binding bids show the actual market price. For sellers both are free of charge, for all makes and models.
It is based on real sales completed through truckoo and on the current demand from dealers in the network – not on advertised prices. It is a guide for your decision, not an offer. The actual market price is set by the binding bids.
No. The estimate is non-binding, and the dealers' bids bind only the dealer, not you. The sale only comes about once you accept a bid – and then with truckoo as your contractual partner for payment and processing.
Submit the registration certificate, mileage and photos – you receive a non-binding price estimate and then decide for yourself whether to obtain binding bids.
